Password strength checker

Password strength checkers are free online tools that compare your password against a list of known passwords and then tell you how strong or weak your current password is. The idea is that the stronger your password is, the more resistant it will be to being guessed by someone trying to break into your account. There are several ways to measure password strength, but entropy is one standard metric. Entropy measures how difficult it would be for someone to crack your password using brute force methods (i.e., trying every possible combination of characters until they find the right one). Another way to measure password strength is by looking at its length. A longer password is more resistant to being cracked than a shorter one because there are more possible combinations that a hacker would have to try. Therefore, the best passwords are long and have high entropy. But even a short password can be strong if it has high entropy.
